Kane Boss Fight & The Sewers: Blood and Rust – Titanfall 2 – Story Breakdown & Walkthrough

Kane Boss Fight & Surviving the Toxic Sludge – Blood and Rust – Titanfall 2 Walkthrough & Story Breakdown

In the third chapter of Titanfall 2, you take on the mission “Blood and Rust.” This part of the story highlights the growing partnership between Jack Cooper and BT-7274. Set on the dangerous planet Typhon, the mission has you and BT making your way through a huge, IMC-controlled water reclamation facility. The setting is tough and industrial, full of toxic sludge and enemies, which helps show how Cooper and his experienced Titan learn to work together against the IMC’s strong defenses.

Assisting Militia Forces in the Sludge-Filled Valley

When Cooper and BT enter the facility, they drop into a valley full of toxic sludge to help Lieutenant Shaver and Lieutenant Freeborn, who are fighting hard to hold their ground. The battle is tough, and you’ll need to use BT’s heavy weapons to take down waves of IMC Titans and robots. In the middle of the fight, Cooper picks up the Tone loadout for BT, which gives you tracking rockets and a strong particle wall. This upgrade is key for handling the large number of enemies in this dangerous area.

Once you fight off the IMC attack, the Militia soldiers are surprised and grateful to see a Pilot and Titan show up. Having a working Vanguard Titan gives the troops a big morale boost, since they’ve been struggling to hold their ground in the toxic zone. Even though your main goal is to find Major Anderson, helping Shaver and Freeborn shows the Militia’s selfless spirit. This moment also highlights how important the Pilot-Titan partnership is for everyone fighting on Typhon.

The Separation at the Flow Regulation Gate

The mission changes pace as BT and Cooper leave the open valley and head into the tight sewer system of the facility. They soon run into a huge Flow Regulation Gate that BT can’t get through. BT figures out that the only way to open the gate is from a control room that’s too small for a Titan. This means Cooper has to get out and go on foot, while BT searches for another way around.

After Cooper gets to the control room and opens the gate, an automatic safety airlock suddenly closes, trapping him inside the facility. Now separated from BT, Cooper has to make it on his own in a dangerous maze of machinery. This part tests your skills as a solo Pilot, since you’ll need to use your jump kit and weapons to survive without BT’s help. The tension rises as you move through toxic waste areas full of hidden dangers and new threats.

Facing Stalkers and the Taunts of Kane

As Cooper makes his way alone through the facility, he runs into Stalkers for the first time. These are tough IMC robots built to last and keep enemies pinned down. They’re much harder to fight than regular grunts, especially in the tight hallways. While fighting them, Cooper starts to hear radio messages from Kane, a cruel member of the Apex Predators. Kane is in charge of the facility’s defense and enjoys taunting the Militia, making the mission feel more personal.

As Cooper goes deeper into the facility, he finds another group of Militia soldiers who got separated and are being hunted by the IMC. They’re trapped in the lower vats, but Cooper’s help gives them a fighting chance. Together, you move through dangerous rooms full of toxic waste and avoid IMC patrols. This part of the game really shows off the level’s vertical design, so you’ll need to use wall-running and double-jumping to stay safe and fight back.

Surviving the Toxic Vats and Tick Swarms

The action ramps up when Cooper enters the main toxic vats, where “ticks”—explosive drones sent by the IMC—are everywhere. These drones chase intruders and explode, so you’ll need fast reflexes and good aim to take them out. Clearing the vats and handling the tick swarms while moving forward keeps the pressure high as you get closer to reuniting with BT.

After making it through the tough fights and dangerous vats, Cooper finally reaches the main pressure chamber and reunites with BT-7274, who found another way in. Their reunion doesn’t last long, though, because Kane shows up right away, ready to take them down. The pressure chamber is hot and tense, setting up the big showdown with one of the Apex Predators’ top mercenaries.

The Boss Battle: Defeating Kane’s Scorch

The boss fight with Kane is intense, putting Cooper and BT up against a special Scorch Titan. Kane uses fire attacks and traps to control the area and limit BT’s movement. The arena is full of hazards, so you’ll need to keep moving and make good use of the new Tone loadout. Use tracking rockets and keep your distance from Kane’s fire weapons to slowly break down his defenses and beat his aggressive style.

After the fight, Kane’s Titan is destroyed, giving Cooper and BT their first big win against the Apex Predators. Cooper then gets out to collect Kane’s helmet from the wreckage, which is a tough but important job. BT uses the helmet’s data port to pull out an encryption module. This tech lets them listen in on the Apex Predators’ private radio channels, giving the Militia a big advantage by revealing enemy plans on Typhon.
