Viper Boss Fight & The Draconis: The Ark – Titanfall 2 – Story Breakdown & Walkthrough

Viper Boss Fight & The Airship Battle – The Ark – Titanfall 2 Walkthrough & Story Breakdown

The eighth chapter of Titanfall 2 The Ark, is where the Frontier Militia’s fight against the IMC reaches its peak. In this high-stakes aerial mission, the Militia must intercept the IMS Draconis before it delivers the Ark, a powerful energy source, to the Fold Weapon. Right from the start, you’re thrown into a chaotic battle in the sky, surrounded by friendly dropships and led by Commander Sarah Briggs. The mission feels urgent and fast-paced, making it clear that time is running out as the IMC’s ship gets closer to its goal.

Boarding the IMS Malta and Joining the 6-4

After making it through the chaos, Jack Cooper boards the IMS Malta, a huge carrier that escorts the Draconis. Here, Cooper teams up with the 6-4, a famous mercenary group led by Gates. Working with the 6-4 changes the gameplay from solo action to team tactics. Together, they fight through the Malta’s decks, facing tough IMC soldiers and defenses. Their main goal is to clear the decks and take out the anti-aircraft guns so the rest of the Militia can board safely.

Fighting alongside the 6-4 feels like being in an action movie, as you move through tight corridors and open decks while the battle continues outside. The 6-4 helps with fire support, but Cooper still does most of the hard work. After taking out the turrets, the team breaks into the ship’s control center. This part shows the 6-4’s style: quick, loud, and very effective. With the Militia and the 6-4 working together, the IMC forces on the Malta are defeated, setting up the next part of the mission.

Hijacking the Carrier for Strategic Advantage

After clearing out the main threats on the IMS Malta, Cooper heads for the ship’s bridge. Getting there tests your skills, as you need to use Cooper’s jump kit to move through the carrier. Once on the bridge, Cooper hacks into the ship’s mainframe with his Data Knife, turning the IMC’s tech against them. Guided by Sarah Briggs over the radio, Cooper takes control of the Malta’s navigation and steers the carrier behind the IMS Draconis, giving the Militia’s Titans a place to land.

This part of the mission is a big win for the Militia. By moving the Malta behind the Draconis, Cooper gives the Militia a way to launch a final attack. Seeing the huge carrier behind the transport ship marks a turning point, giving the Militia new hope. As the ship steadies and Titans land on the deck, there’s a short moment of relief. But the IMC still has the Ark, and the most dangerous Apex Predator is still out there.

Nowhere to Run: The Viper Boss Fight

The calm doesn’t last long. BT-7274 meets up with Cooper on the flight deck, but Viper returns for a final showdown. This fight, called “Nowhere to Run, Nowhere to Hide,” is one of the toughest in the game. Viper uses his Titan’s flight to stay out of reach and attacks with railgun fire and flight cores. To win, you need to manage your Titan’s loadouts, dodge attacks, and look for a chance to bring Viper down. This battle really tests everything you’ve learned so far.

As the fight with Viper heats up, things get personal and intense. Even after taking heavy damage, Viper won’t back down and tries one last attack as BT throws Cooper toward the IMS Draconis. The Titans clash in mid-air and crash onto the Draconis. In the struggle, BT opens Viper’s cockpit, letting Cooper finish him off. Viper is finally defeated, but BT is badly damaged and loses an arm, making the next part of the mission even harder.

Securing the Ark and the IMS Draconis Crash

Even though BT-7274 is badly damaged and missing an arm, he stays focused as he and Cooper enter the IMS Draconis’s hold. There, they find the Ark inside a huge, glowing chamber. The device’s power is clear from the energy crackling in the room. BT realizes there’s no time to remove the Ark safely, so he climbs into the chamber and pulls the Ark’s core into his own body to keep it safe.

BT’s risky move causes a huge energy surge, and with the ship already damaged from the fight with Viper, the IMS Draconis starts to fall. The mission hits its peak as the ship breaks apart and crashes toward the planet. The screen goes black with the sounds of metal tearing and explosions as the Draconis crashes into the IMC base near the Fold Weapon. This ending sets up the final mission, leaving Cooper and BT trapped in the wreckage with the Ark finally in their hands.
