Collections, Impound Yard Stealth & Bandit Shootout in Chapter 3: Pizzu
Watch Mafia: The Old Country Gameplay Walkthrough Chapter 3: Pizzu | 4K 60FPS PC Ultra Graphics
After the intense Palio horse race, Chapter 3 of Mafia: The Old Country, called “Pizzu,” really opens up the game and brings us into the family business. Instead of working at the Torrisi estate, Enzo Favara finally heads out into the Sicilian countryside with Luca and Cesare to collect payments from local businesses. This chapter is a big turning point in our walkthrough, moving us from simple melee tutorials to our first real experience with complex stealth, environmental puzzles, and gunplay. As we travel from bright farms to the foggy, guarded docks of Port Almaro. We are no longer just farmhands trying to survive; now we are enforcers spreading Don Torrisi’s influence across the island through intimidation and force.

A Secret Garden Meeting with Isabella
Before we head out for the family’s business, we can take on one of the game’s first optional objectives. While the main quest tells us to meet Luca at the stables, a side objective asks us to meet Isabella in the vineyard’s garden. We walk along the cobblestone paths of the Torrisi estate and find her waiting among the grapevines. This short, secret meeting triggers a cinematic cutscene that adds depth to Enzo’s risky romance with the Don’s daughter. After the scene, we can check the nearby broken fireplace to pick up the Astuzia Bead.
Getting the Astuzia Bead from the garden fireplace is important if you want early gear upgrades, since this charm gives a good boost to your starting stats. Once you have it, head back to the stables to meet Luca and Cesare. After a short cutscene, mount your horse and ride out of the Valle Dorata gates. The ride gives you a chance to enjoy the beautiful 1900s Sicilian scenery and listen to the enforcers’ banter before the action starts.
- Lore Fact: “Pizzu” is derived from the traditional Sicilian word “pizzo”, which historically refers to the protection money extorted by the Mafia from local businesses and farmers in exchange for “protection” against damage or violence.

Intimidating the Citrus Farmer
Our first big stop is a collections job at a large, sun-baked citrus farm. The farmer has refused to pay, so Luca gives Enzo a revolver to scare him. In a clever twist, the gun is actually unloaded, showing Enzo’s low rank in the group. We have to rely on acting tough, pointing the empty gun at the farmer and then at his son when told. This psychological trick works perfectly, and the frightened farmer tells us where his hidden safe is.
In the next room, you’ll need to find the farm safe code to get the cash. If you explore and read the romantic poem on the table, you’ll find the combination is 10-20-30. Entering these numbers opens the safe, letting you collect the family’s money and some extra Dinari. Before leaving, check the porch for a hidden newspaper collectible so you don’t miss any valuable items. Then, mount up and head to the next target.
- Lore Fact: The use of an unloaded gun for intimidation was a common, deliberate tactic used by seasoned mobsters when training new recruits. It taught young enforcers how to command a room using fear and presence alone, ensuring they wouldn’t accidentally discharge a weapon and cause unwanted police attention during a routine collection.

Breaking the Quarry Strike and Manuele
The collections route gets more intense when we reach a dusty stone quarry where the workers are on strike. Don Torrisi needs his income, so we are told to confront the foreman and end the protest however we can. The conversation quickly turns violent, leading to a tough one-on-one knife fight with an enforcer named Manuele. The combat mechanics from Chapter 2 are really tested here, since Manuele is aggressive and punishes careless moves with strong counterattacks.
If you’re having trouble beating Manuele, the key is to learn his three-hit combo. He starts with a quick low slice, then a sweeping overhead strike, and finishes with a heavy, unblockable attack that glows red. Parry the first two hits and dodge back to avoid the last one. Once you wear down his health and win, the strike ends. Take a moment to loot the area and pick up the “Sicily Under Water” newspaper before leaving.

Stealth and Sabotage at the Port Almaro Impound Yard
After leaving the quarry, the chapter changes pace as we reach Port Almaro to recover a large shipment of confiscated whiskey. This part is all about stealth, since the impound yard is full of armed guards. Use Instinct vision to watch enemy patrols through the crates and cargo boxes. You can pick up empty bottles and throw them to distract guards. Usually, only one guard will check the noise, so you can sneak up and take him out quietly, saving your knife’s durability.
If you carefully search the perimeter of the Port Almaro impound yard, you’ll find great rewards. Behind some crates in the back-left corner is the first Mystery Fox statue. Finding this is important for completionists, as it starts a big collectible hunt across the game. Keep quietly taking out the remaining guards, open lockboxes with your blade for extra Dinari, and find the stolen whiskey on a transport truck. Once you have the cargo, leave through the gates without being seen.
- Lore Fact: The Mystery Fox collectibles introduced in this impound yard serve as a direct, nostalgic nod to the original Mafia games, brilliantly replacing the classic hidden magazines with an item more historically appropriate for 1900s rural Sicily.

The Bandit Shootout for the Water Pump
The last task in the Pizzu chapter is to help Farmer Fichera get his stolen water pump back from a gang of bandits. When you reach their camp, the game finally gives you a fully loaded firearm. Pick up the high-powered rifle from the workbench, which marks a big change from stealth and melee to a full shootout. Instead of using your knife on the locked door, just shoot the padlock off with your rifle to break into the bandit hideout.
Gunfights in Mafia: The Old Country feel heavy and challenging. The bandits are well-armed and use cover, so you need to stay low and aim carefully. The aiming system takes a few seconds to become accurate, so firing wildly will waste ammo and get you killed. Keep your distance and take out the bandits as they appear from cover. Once the fight is over, you can secure Farmer Fichera’s water pump and pick up the Ingegnoso Bead charm from the rafters to finish this action-packed chapter.
