Chapter 15: Scattered Light – Majima Returns
Chapter 15: Scattered Light shifts the focus back to Goro Majima as he returns to Kamurocho. This chapter is important in the battle for the Empty Lot and shows the tense politics between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance.
The chapter centers on Futoshi Shimano’s plan. Majima learns from Sagawa that Tachibana Real Estate brought Makoto Makimura to Tokyo, but the real shock is Shimano’s betrayal. Shimano wants to bypass the Tojo Clan and give the Empty Lot to the Omi Alliance in exchange for their support to become Chairman.
The chapter takes apart Majima’s journey in detail. Shimano reveals that Majima was never meant to be a real hitman, but was used as a psychological tool. By giving the job to someone he thought was ‘too soft,’ Shimano made sure Majima would protect Makoto, building trust that Shimano wanted to use to get the deed. This realization deeply shakes Majima and makes him question his search for redemption and honor.
The gameplay features two important boss fights that challenge Majima’s determination. Majima faces Osamu Kashiwagi at the Kazama Family Office, which acts as a key test before he heads to the bar Serena. There, he gets into a tough fight with Akira Nishikiyama. This battle stands out because Reina steps in, and by the end, Nishikiyama understands that Majima truly wants to protect Makoto.
Chapter 15 ends at the Empty Lot. Following the psychological trauma of her brother’s death, her psychosomatic blindness is cured. The somber final scene shows the true cost of conflict as Makoto sees the land that caused so much suffering.
