Chapter 12: Den of Desires – Goro Majima, Masaru Sera, and the Empty Lot Revelation
Chapter 12: Den of Desires in Yakuza 0 returns to Goro Majima as the ‘Empty Lot’ conflict intensifies. In Sotenbori, Majima meets Tsukasa Sagawa. Their strained relationship worsens when Sagawa reveals Makoto Makimura’s hiding place: Camellia Grove. This luxury ryokan, especially the Benten Inn, is a secret base for the Nikkyo Consortium within the Tojo Clan.
Majima’s infiltration of the Benten Inn marks a turning point. He shifts from regaining clan status to protecting Makoto. The inn is a maze filled with Nikkyo Consortium assassins. Players face tough battles, including a mini-boss wielding metal war fans, before the final rooftop fight.
The chapter concludes with a difficult boss fight against Masaru Sera, head of the Nikkyo Consortium. Sera’s martial arts and counterattacks push Majima to his limits. After Majima’s defeat, Sera reveals why the ‘Empty Lot’ matters: it is needed for the Kamurocho Revitalization Project, making Makoto Makimura, its legal owner, the most wanted person in the Japanese underworld.
At the end of Chapter 12, the story gets ready for the final part of the game. Sera tells Majima that Makoto is already in Tokyo. When they find a business card for ‘Tachibana Real Estate — Kazuma Kiryu,’ Sagawa says Majima’s time in Sotenbori is finished. They decide to go to Kamurocho to find Kiryu, bringing the two main storylines together.
