Chapter 3: Funeral of Fists – The 10 Billion Yen Mystery and Nishiki’s Betrayal
Chapter 3 of Yakuza Kiwami “Funeral of Fists,” focuses on betrayal and political turmoil within the Tojo Clan. After Third Chairman Masaru Sera is killed and 10 billion yen goes missing, Kazuma Kiryu, with help from his loyal ally Shinji Tanaka, sneaks into the Tojo Clan Headquarters. Kiryu aims to meet Shintaro Kazama to understand the confusion caused by his ten-year absence.
The chapter highlights the broken yakuza leadership. While sneaking in, Kiryu meets Yasuda from the Omi Alliance, who reveals that Akira Nishikiyama has betrayed his old friends. Nishiki hired the Omi Alliance to kill Kiryu, showing how much he has changed. Later, Kazama explains that Nishiki’s actions come from losing his sister and wanting to step out of Kiryu’s shadow.
A major part of the story is about Yumi Sawamura, who is connected to the missing 10 billion yen. Kazama says Yumi lost her memory after what happened ten years ago and has disappeared again. Before he can explain more, a sniper tries to kill Kazama. This attack lets Futoshi Shimano blame Kiryu, starting a big manhunt at the funeral.
The chapter ends with a major boss fight against Futoshi Shimano in the courtyard. Shimano fights with powerful, wild moves and uses things like stone lanterns as weapons. After beating Shimano, Kiryu has to escape to Kamurocho. Now hunted by both the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance, Kiryu must find Yumi, who may hold the key to the missing money and the clan’s future.
